You give in to the power's continued grasp over your will, and obey it. Staring into the opening fissure, you see a strange dark smoke start to emerge from the stone crack.\n\nThe ore begins to liquify. Pearlescent mercury pours over the stone and puddles around your feet. You [[try to fight it|Refuse]], but the power commands your full consciousness to walk through the small fissure that has opened in the cave. Without any other option, you [[step into the dark crevasse.|Crevasse]]
You begin a struggle with your own being turned against you. Your veins pulse with the power's mind, which is commanding you to go forth.\n\nWith the last fiber of your being, you feel the power's grasp over you falter for just enough time.\n\nYou begin to take a step back, when from within the crevasse that opened behind you, you feel a strange essence over your body. It forces you around. You can tell that its angry. Angry that you disobeyed its otherworldly command. And so, it forces you to take your previously discarded pickaxe into your hand. The power knows you tried to defy it, and because of this, it will punish you. The shadows' macabre call in your mind gains full control over your meager, malleable, mortal form. \nIt forces you to drive the pick through your skull.\n\nWith the last trickle of consciousness fading out as the pick drives through the back of your skull, you knew one thing: you should NOT have done that.
You step into the abyss.\n\nIt was a very small entrance, with old stone walls carving themselves away to reveal a small stone pedastal.\n\nUpon the small pedastal sat an object. You couldn't see through the dark smoke, but you could feel its presence. \n\nYou reach out and grab a small stone shard. It glows a faint purple, and you know that this is the source of the power you have been feeling from the ore. As you wonder why this stone was calling to you, the power awakens you to a presence approaching you from the rear. \n\nYou know they might be hostile, and may have to [[act fast and strike hard|Act]] to defend your prize, but you also feel like it may be best to [[play this off|Play]] and avoid any further trouble than you've already gotten yourself in to.
The vein of ore begins to glow, and you begin to [[retreat|Retreat]], afraid of what you have just done. \n\nHowever, the power tells you differently, to [[stare|Stare]] into the cracking ore vein as it begins to part the rock of the small mining cloister.
The power is overwhelming, and you give in to its will. You throw your pick aside and reach out with your hand to touch the radiant ore. \n\nYour fingers [[touch its pearlescent surface|Crack]] and you know in your mind you activated something beyond your control.
It's happened again. You messed everything up. And this time, it hasn't just changed you. It has changed your entire essence.\n\nYou awoke from your quiet little town in Dawnsheath expecting a normal day of mining, liek everyday you've lived in the small harbor town. It was why you moved here in the first place: inconspicuousness, especially after the incident that took place in Brackworth ten years ago. You needed a quiet place to settle down with your wife (well, at the time she was your hostage) Za'ania. You just wanted everything to have a sense of normalcy. And you had achieved it, for a time. You found a small place that was willing to let you work in the mines that asked little questions. You built a modest house on the outskirts of town. You began to start a family with Za'ania. Everything was going relatively well, up until you found... it, that one day in the mines.\n\nThere was just something about that vein of ore that was special, and you knew it. Something about the [[way it gleamed...|Ore]]\n\n
You stop and warn Khevin Von Norde that there was a strange ore deep within the mine and you think that you should get out of the mine immediately. \n\nKevin begins to laugh at your preposterous preposition, but his laughter soon turns to screams of pure horror and anguish as his lifeblood bursts from his own veins at the mysterious power's will. Your own veins soon follow suit, and you have one last conscious thought:\n\nThis was a mistake.
The Deus Stone
You take a mighty swing with your pickaxe at the ore, ignoring any feelings you may have thought you had been experiencing. Just as your pick makes contact with the vein, your entire being is shocked to its very core. The power that coursed through your veins is now pulsing through your arteries with a force you cannot contain. Your nerves begin to fray. Your brain matter melds together. The power is forcing your own body against itself.\n\nYou feel it rupture your inner arteries, and as your entire being is ripped apart from the inside out and left to rot on the cold, stoic stone that you lie on, you have one final conscious thought:\n\nThis was a bad idea.

You make it out of the mine, leaving Khevin behind out of pure fear. You run out, and feel the power slowly lose its grasp over you.\n\nAs you run past the foreman's hut outside of the mine entrance, you hear a faint shouting coming from within the mine and feel a twang of guilt, hoping Khevin is alright, but knowing inside that he is not.\n\nYou keep on running, and end up back at your own home, feeling the stange power's presence completely out of your body. \n\nOpening the door to your modest house on the outskirts of Dawnsheathe, you frantically search for your wife, your [[beloved Za'ania|Wife]].\n\n
It looked like liquid gemstone. The ore ran through the rock with a radiance unlike anything you've ever seen before. It sparkled like twilight in the mist, and then shifted to the colors of the spectrum seemingly at will. It was alluring.\n\nYou align your iron pickaxe with the glowing vein, and begin to make your first strike. \n\nAs your muscles tense and prepare to [[swing your pick|Strike]], you feel a strange power course through your veins. You feel its mark in your very subconscious, slipping through your being and into your mind. It tells you to [[hold your bare hand out to the ore|Touch]].
You begin to back away from the slowly cracking ore, and take off at a full sprint back to the mine entrance.\n\nAlong the way, you see your fellow miner and aquaintance [[Khevin Von Norde|Kevin]], and you wonder whether you should warn him.\n\nEither way, you continue to [[sprint|Sprint]] out of the mine, not wanting to know what power you just unlocked.
